About Tesco:

Tesco was founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen as a group of market stalls in Hackney, London. The Tesco name first appeared in 1924, after Cohen purchased a shipment of tea from T. E. Stockwell and combined those three initials with the first two letters of his surname, and the first Tesco shop opened in 1931 in Burnt Oak, Barnet.

Tesco Recruitment Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement design patterns in code.
  • Comfortably translate small behaviour requirements into tasks & code.
  • Understand how high-quality code can lead to rapid delivery.
  • Write clean; maintainable code.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of domains and domain modelling.
  • Seek out and use appropriate abstractions.
  • Understand patterns for integration (events/services).
  • Understand how to leverage existing functionality outside immediate project.
  • Understand scope of project and when to move behaviour to other services.

Preferred skill:

Java; Spring Boot/Micronaut; Reactive programming (good to have); TDD/BDD; Kafka; Docker; Kubernetes; any Cloud (preferably Azure); CI/CD; any NoSQL DB. Good to have exposure to any load and performance test tool like Jmeter; Gatling; Locust; etc.
